Living in the Moment – Lessons from Eazy & Lemon

It’s June 2024, and while the world outside is busy setting itself on fire—inflation rising like bad bread, politicians competing for the gold medal in idiocy, and a never-ending carousel of global crises—Eazy and Lemon had their priorities straight. Run, play, sniff, repeat.

This picture? Pure joy. Two dogs, an endless stretch of Texel beach, and not a single worry about inflation, world conflicts, or whether the latest political circus act will be the thing that finally makes humanity throw in the towel.
The Art of Living in the Moment
Lemon, the embodiment of chaos on four paws, takes off at full speed. Legs stretched, ears flopping, the sheer thrill of the chase written across her face. Meanwhile, Eazy, the wise old soul, saunters forward with the dignified swagger of a dog who knows that life isn’t about running all the time—sometimes, it’s about feeling the wind, squinting at the horizon, and knowing you own this moment.
We humans? We’re not so good at this. We doomscroll, stress about things we can’t control, and let the weight of the world seep into our bones like a bad draft. But Eazy and Lemon? They remind us that sometimes, the answer is simpler: run when you feel like running, walk when you feel like walking, and stop to sniff the sea air just because you can.
Perspective from the Sand
Standing there, watching them, I remember what matters: the crunch of sand underfoot, the salty spray of the North Sea, the sound of paws thumping against the shore. The world will keep spinning, whether we choose to stress about it or not. The question is—are we actually here for the ride, or are we too busy worrying about tomorrow’s nonsense?
A little bit of Wisdom: Brought to You by Two Very Good Dogs
What we didn’t know then was that this would be our last truly carefree adventure with Lemon. Just three months later, she was gone. And yet, in that moment, on that beach, there was only joy—no sadness, no worries, just the feeling of sun-warmed sand and the happiness of being together.
So, take a page from Eazy and Lemon. Look around.
The world is still beautiful, despite its best attempts to convince us otherwise. Chase the fun. Stroll with purpose.
And for the love of dog, stop to appreciate the good stuff while it’s happening.
Because in the end, life isn’t about the mess on the news—it’s about the moments that make you stop, breathe, and maybe, just maybe, run like a lunatic down an empty beach.
